Colouring intaglio prints with watercolour is great fun
though not always easy to find harmony between print and painting.
The watercolour should find its own freedom
and respect the character and space of the printed lines
I'm happy with these.
Here's the blogpost with the black & white prints
In this print you see Parcival, the innocent boy from the heavenly woods, who will encounter the world of armour and men, his little sister and the mysterious woman with the immaculate Heart, and the animal-cat-mother, the watchful keeper of her Soul. So three beings are watching over the little sister, but closer than any other is the wise warm animal spirit.
I have nothing more to write? No, old trees call me, their presence calls me to a sacred grove with a long lane of majestic trees. They are awake. When you walk through that lane, being completely silent, being without one word, while the trees are listening to your heart, then, at the silent end you can make a wish.
This is my first post of the new year
- midwintersleep was deep and perfect, long enough, not too long -
so I wish you, dear ones, a marvellous 2012
with a heartfelt thank you for being here !
With Love
Barbara

ReplyDeleteand Thank YOU for being here:)).
This line," When you walk through that lane, being completely silent, being without one word, while the trees are listening to your heart, then, at the silent end you can make a wish." speaks to me. How lovely!
ReplyDeleteThese are splendid! I love seeing them all side by side... each of them having such a different feeling because of the colours, but all of them coming from the same plate.
ReplyDeleteThis is adventurous! These colors!! It is like a metamorphosis of the same landscape you wander through in different seasons, weathers and day-times. The same, but always completely others! Brave! Innovative!
ReplyDeleteSupernatural communication with your nearby trees: they love you! You them, too.
Happy and good and creative new year, Stille, silent Linde!

Yes! I agree with Dori - what a great way of putting it - adventurous! Wonderfully intense. Love it. I'm enjoying the fading afternoon light. Finally we have some beautiful snow and I feel warm and cozy with Pasha. Sending you forest blessings!
ReplyDeleteThank you, every dear one of you! It is an adventure to experience how an image, a drawing or print or painting, lives on after it is "finished" and sometimes after weeks or months or even years, it wants new life, it changes or blossoms, in ways that bring new stories and meanings. Me too, I watch it happen ...
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouraging comments on the Indian Miniature Paintings blog. Blogging can take up a lot of time, so it's nice that it's appreciated by people.
Your work makes me feel like getting back into etching. I did some a long time ago and enjoyed it a lot.
Wishing you success.
Jeronimus.
Hi Jeronimus, etching is a beautiful technique asking a lot of dedication to the materials and processes and images, and going into that gives you much more than some fine prints ... You know.
