In the silent Linden : this blog is a diary about my - Barbara Beeckmans - work as an artist. I work with ink, drypoint, etching, watercolour.
Hier kun je ook iets proeven van wat er gebeurt in de stille Linde : het kunsthuis, de droomboom, de stille aanraking van seiki en shiatsu. Welkom.

Opening her eyes

the most precious hour

All of these faces opened their eyes.
This work on watercolours of past Summer needed to be done
before I could welcome the new work this Autumn will bring.

The Walk

Guanyin / a Grandmother
Guanyin / a Grandmother

My Guanyin or Grandmother has found Her fulfilment.
Her eyes are open and She carries a Trinity.
Her rose coloured eyes tell of Her complete and unconditional Love.
This is how She was before

6 x words from you and me:

  1. Guanyin as grandmother takes my breath away and fills my heart, thank you!

  2. Marvellous! Extrano! What a heart-way! I remember, once, when I studied in the Academy of art in Munich, my master said: "You should now look outside of yourself, if you want to come forward. Open your eyes!"
What a really unconditional Love of the grandmother! I agree with Valerianna! For me she also could be Mother Anna, the mother of Mother Mary. Very free!

  3. Lovely! The Guanyin painting is the most beautiful mix of summer and winter.

It seems as if you are full of energy for the coming season... I can't wait to see what autumn will bring!

  4. "Vigilavi, et factus sum sicut passer solitarius in tecto."

  5. "I have kept vigil, and I have become like a solitary sparrow on a roof."

  6. I would like to say it in German, too, but I only know it in Latin! :) The English fashion is beautiful!
